bigstockphoto_legs_on_white_138309I say, why not! It is a reference meaning you are a strong, confident woman with a spirit about life. Would you rather be referred to as “boring”, “no zest for life” or “over the hill”? Calling you a Cougar is just saying you are fun and spirited. It does not mean your chasing guys in diapers, unless maybe you are?

There are 2 types of “Cougars” classy or trashy. How you carry yourself defines that without a second thought. Hollywood for laughs, has determined that “Cougars” are over the hill, big hair and make-up wearing women chasing guys still in diapers. That is not “you”. You are a confident woman who loves life, adventure and calling your own “shots”. You date who you want, when you want. You may even be the married woman every man wishes was his own wife. Your confidence makes you sexy because you attack life with a sense of humor and adventure.

Why not be admired as a “Cougar” it’s fun, your confident and you know who you are. Play along ….your holding all the cards anyway. I would be more concerned when they are not calling you anything. That means your getting boring and feeling older than you might look. Your attitude is your age, so I say play along …..and enjoy the admiration!

Remember the double standard, people get jealous when women have a little fun, especially other women. Most people want women in a corner, I say get out and celebrate life. Go Cougars!!

  1. I love the term COUGAR, MANTHER, SNOW CAT….whatever you want to call us. I like your definition “women with a zest for life” hits the nail on the head! We have no idea what in the hell we are doing until about 35 or 40 then we KNOW what we want and we are NOT afraid to go after it.

    You rock, Tomcat!

    Blissfully, Chrystal

  3. I disagree. My girlfriend doesn’t really like ‘MILF’ or ‘cougar’. Even though (and contrary to myth/popular belief) Mature Women don’t ‘chase’ after Younger Men, they’re still thought of as predatory. You go survey dozens of real mature people that are in an Ageless Relationship and you’ll find that just like any other ‘normal’ courting, it was the YM that ‘chased’ after the woman! Go figure. It’s just jealousy, ageism, and plain ol’ sexism at play all over again. Simple. So stop using those inaccurate derogatory terms.

If you want to tell a women she’s inspiring, zestful, classy, hot, or beautiful, then just call her that.

  4. I do not care for MILF, but Cougar does not bother me at all. I am 45, and more beautiful (inside and out), wise, optimistic, and free-spirited, then I have ever been in my life. And yes, I receive more date requests from younger men then ones my own age or older. i am free to choose who I want, when I want. I am motivated, purpose driven and excited about life. I have much left to do, and I don’t plan on stopping any time soon.

    Go Cougars!

  5. Are you kidding me? I love being called a Cougar! I take it as a huge compliment. To me it suggests a woman who is sexy, smart, takes great care of herself and knows exactly who she is and what she wants. She’s kind but is not afraid to speak her mind and is self-assured and fun. Now who wouldn’t want these types of qualities.

Sure just go after your sons friends and your good to go. Why a young guy would date a old broad is beond me. Someone his own age certinly would more pleasing to the eye. And tool.
