bigstockphoto_Love_Trust_and_Happiness_5823093I remember listening to the radio on my way home from work about a year ago. I was listening to a controversial “shock jock” called Tom Leykis. You either love him or hate him. He tells it like it is about men and women. One thing he said that night reminded me of when I was single and dating like it was a second job. He was saying how annoying it is when a woman wants to know “where is this going?” I say in my book Excuse me, Your Soul Mate Is Waiting, “If you have to ask a guy, “where is this going?”, it is going no where. I remember asking a guy I was dating that very question. He called me every day, had a key to my apartment and slept over regularly. I foolishly asked him where things were going, and I got a reality check, slap in the face, kick in the stomach, whatever you want to call it… but he said… “Oh no, you are not my girlfriend, I am not ready for a girlfriend.”

Men can compartmentalize love, sex, relationships, friendship etc. where as women take any attention to mean that this guy is my “soul mate.” Men need sex. Men want sex. Men want to see naked women. Don’t confuse this with “He wants to marry me and have babies!”

Ladies, beloveds, go out and have fun. Date, experience, take the dinners, the shoes, the compliments, live your life. It’s okay if every guy you accept a dinner date from is not your soul mate. If he doesn’t call that’s okay. You are exciting, you are precious, you are ready for the next adventure. You know where this is going? This the direction of your life and it is going in the right direction.
